On December 3, 1960, postponed from October 8th, at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles world middleweight champion Gene Fullmer defended his title against an old for, Sugar Ray Robinson. After 15 rounds the fight was declared a draw.  On offer is this original wirephoto which was graciously autographed for me by Gene Fullmer many years ago at the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York. Signed boldly by Gene in black sharpie. This original wire photo is in excellent condition with a light corner crease at upper left corner. It has the original press stamp on the verso. it measures 9 x 7 inches. A fine clear image of Robinson landing a big right hand on the jaw of Fullmer.

On December 3, 1960 at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles world middleweight champion Gene Fullmer defended his title against an old for, Sugar Ray Robinson. After 15 rounds the fight was declared a draw.   Gene Fullmer was born on July 21, 1931 in West Jordan, Utah. He won the World Middleweight Title on January 2, 1957 from Ray Robinson. He later won the NBA Middleweight Title in a bout with Carmen Basilio on August 28 1959. He announced his retirement on July 23, 1964 with a final record of 55-6-3 with 24 KO’s.
